Fundraising for your local library

Run entirely by volunteers for the last seven years, as a library, we want to remain accessible to all, while providing a service which reflects our wonderful community and promotes literacy to all ages.
Stoney Stanton Community Library offers all the facilities of a council run library (including being linked to Leicestershire Libraries Computer System), unfortunately the library is no longer funded by Leicestershire County Council, instead funding comes from fundraising in the community, your wonderful donations and through applying for grants.
We're currently looking for a volunteer to join the Library team to find and apply for grants and funding to help us to keep operating. This role will be aided by the committee and is suitable to do from home.
There is a permanent large book sale in the library with children’s books from 45p each and all adult books 65p each. Puzzles are from £2.50. New stock is added regularly and there is a huge selection to choose from. Great for holiday reading.
All proceeds from the sales go entirely back into the library funds to help with running costs.

We are now accepting donations of clean, current fiction, children’s books of all types and puzzles. We are no longer able to accept non-fiction books including cookery, travel, educational or gardening books as they don’t seem to re-sell. We do not take CDs/DVDs for the same reason.
If you would like to donate suitable books/puzzles, please drop them in during opening hours. We ask that you do not leave them outside the door as they spoil.

Love Blaby Lottery is a weekly online lottery created to support local causes in Blaby District. Tickets are only £1 per week with 60% going to local good causes and prizes up to £25,000. Our dedicated page means when you buy a ticket and nominate Stoney Stanton Community Library, the donation comes to us.
